Overview

International Business Law is the first study programme of this type, because none of the universities in Lithuania has or administers any specialised first-cycle programme of business law. This programme is different from others in terms of specific subjects offered for studies (specialised subjects), its conceptual framework and its qualitative leap from the traditional approach to law as part of national identity to the approach to law primarily as a system of fundamental provisions established in international communities which must be followed in international business for it to function properly. The study programme offered is focused not only and not so much on governance within a state, but rather on the development of international business where an integrated approach to social sciences, a deep knowledge of specific branches of law and professional application thereof should be helpful.

The objective of the International Business Law programme is to train highly qualified specialists of law with special knowledge of international business law, capable of conceptual thinking, identifying and solving various issues of legal regulation pertaining to international business, applying the provisions of law creatively in providing professional consultation on issues of law involving a cross-border element, and having the ability to apply professional thinking, integrated scientific and legal knowledge as well as knowledge of the principles of international law and the rules of competition in effect in international markets for independent and active development of international business and innovative decisions that increase the competitive advantage and the value of business companies on an international level.
