Marketing is one of the essential functions of business organisation, and this profession is on the list of the most promising future occupations. The purpose of the Marketing and Advertising Study Programme is to prepare highly qualified marketing specialists who can create and implement marketing strategies and have the knowledge and ability to choose the most appropriate communication methods. The programme is designed for creative future marketing specialists who show interest in the most up-to-date media and communication technology and have no fear of permanent challenges. Practice has shown that the marketing and communication areas are inevitably intertwined and that people working in them must have an understanding and knowledge of and skills in both areas if they do not want to lag behind the greatly changing environment. The programme integrates both of these areas of knowledge and is based on the management theory and practice. Therefore, graduates of this programme will have the knowledge and skills needed to compete in the labour market. The purpose of the marketing and advertising studies is to train marketing specialists who are able to address the tasks and challenges of today’s business and economy.
The studies will train multidisciplinary and integrated marketing and communication competences in all subjects of the study programme, with a focus on the skills of innovation, creativity and classical and state-of-the-art research methods, as well as a modern approach to marketing as a new tool for creating value added in business and its activities. The students will gain a scientific basis for identifying, investigating and solving existing marketing problems and modern abilities allowing them to adapt themselves to the constantly changing environment and becoming fully-fledged participants of the new economy. Solving of the set tasks requires effective modern marketing competences that develop a progressive, innovative and entrepreneurial personality through integrated multidisciplinary knowledge forms who seeks technological and worldview sustainability and increased research competences in the changing global markets.
The Marketing and Advertising Study Programme trains the students’ abilities to formulate a strategy, set goals and develop and implement creative ideas. Here the students will gain knowledge of marketing, understanding of consumers, psychology, research and analysis methods and further information that will help them to solve people’s needs and even shape their preferences. Great attention is devoted to the studies of communication and modern media, involving the use of innovative and student-oriented methods such as creative projects and group work. The studies are aimed at training the skills and implementing creative ideas.
Surveys of Lithuanian organisations engaged in the search for and selection of employees show a notable shortage of professionals in this area. Thus, when the need arises, employees with the required knowledge or skills are poached by other organisations or young people still studying at universities are employed.

The marketing and advertising studies convey the necessary knowledge and competences, train creativity and innovation and give self-confidence, which allows the students to become fully-fledged participants of the labour market and work at enterprises in different business sectors, public sector institutions and organisations, non-governmental organisations, creative and cultural initiatives, etc. Graduates of this study programme will gain knowledge of and competences in marketing, understanding of consumers, psychology and the application of research and analysis methods, and will have the ability to guess people’s needs leading to easy employment in the spheres of advertising, public relations, marketing and other related areas.
On completing the Marketing and Advertising Bachelor Study Programme, graduates will be able to work in the marketing, sales, communication, research, advertising or client service divisions of organisations, coordinate the implementation of organisations’ projects, develop competitive products and services and add value to them, engage in consulting activities and continue their studies in the Master programmes of marketing and other social sciences.
