Overview

Based on integral problem-based learning. Studies in clinical medicine are organised in problem based
approach too, integrating various clinical subjects and are conducted in primary, secondary and tertiary medical care centres. Students are taught in small groups from the first year. Clinical practice is 30 credits volume and executed in regional hospitals throughout all Lithuania.

The Faculty of Medicine presents opportunities for students to learn about the latest developments in
medicine and acquire practical skills in preparation for their practice in health care services after graduation. The Faculty’s experts in theoretical and clinical medicine, well-known in Europe and throughout the world, share their knowledge with young individuals who persistently strive to learn. Students are also given the unique opportunity to obtain practical skills at the University’s Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the Baltic countries. The Faculty was established in 1922. It is the largest and oldest faculty at LSMU, consisting of 31 clinical departments, 6 departments and 3 institutes. The number of students is nearly 2,550 and includes approximately 300 international students. Undergraduate courses are available to international students and enrolled in medicine programme in English.
